#WellnessWednesday {Breakfast Bowl}

It’s the first Wednesday of the month… aka #WellnessWednesday on Lyra & Jane!  Here is a look at a quick, easy + healthy breakfast bowl! I make these when i don’t have time to cook a hot breakfast (which is every morning during the week).

This is packed with vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, monounsaturated fat (“good”fat that helps lower your bad cholesterol –from the almonds) and is filling so you aren’t starving in an hour!

Ingredients used: non-fat greek yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwis, sliced almonds, chia seeds and a touch of honey

Just add as much as you like of each ingredient and you have the perfect fuel to start the day! Some days I like the tartness of the yogurt and some days I don’t. For those days when I’m looking for something not-so-tart, I add a touch of honey to sweeten it up.

One thing to keep in mind {especially for people with diabetes} is that fruit is a carbohydrate & natural sugar. So if you are watching your carbs/checking your blood sugar, make sure to measure out the appropriate amount of fruit to meet your meal plan!
