The holiday season is in full swing, which means so are the holiday parties. Whether hosting or attending, we all want to bring a fabulous treat! A cheese board is sure to be a crowd favorite and it is so easy to put together! Here are 5 ingredients for the perfect holiday cheese board that all your guests will love.

1. The Cheese image.jpg

The most important part of your cheese board. I honestly don’t think there is a right or wrong way to pick the cheeses you want. The key is variety. Ideally, you would want a range of flavor and texture from mild to bold and hard to soft. I picked two soft cheeses, two harder cheeses and then some with bold flavor. But like I said, I don’t think you can go wrong with any combo!
The cheeses I used: brie, cumin gouda, manchego, and le chèvre noir {goat cheese}

2. Something Sweetimage.jpg
Fruit is key to creating an impressive cheese board and a great way to add a pop of color. A type of grape and berry are sure to do the trick! We used red grapes and blackberries.

3. Something Crunchyimage.jpg
Nuts are a great texture contrast to add to your board. Use whatever is your favorite! We used raw almonds.

4. Crackers image.jpg
No cheese board would be complete without crackers. We picked up a few different types to add variety and choices to our board!

5. Garnish image.jpg
Last {but not least}, a garnish. This might not seem necessary, but it really does tie all the elements of the board together and gives it that “fancy” finish! I was looking up what herbs best paired with cheese and the two that kept coming up were thyme and sage for hard cheese and rosemary and oregano for soft cheese. We used thyme and I noticed it really did help enhance the flavor of the cheese!image.jpg

Happy holidays!
