Goat Cheese Berry Crostinis

It was overcast and breezy this weekend, so we did a lot of work around the house! This is our first time owning a house and we are enjoying all the house/yard work on the weekends. I’m sure it will get old fast, but for now we have fun working in the yard together. We got some twinkle lights put up after several attempts that failed! We resorted to 10 foot 4×4 wood polls and concrete. Yup, we got serious about it. And Daniel has been working on building us a table and bench for the back deck and it turned out so beautiful! I am beyond impressed, especially since this was his first time to do anything like this. You can see the top of the table in the picture above… isn’t it gorgeous?! Take a look at this simple recipe for these berry crostinis…

Fall Table with Vietri

When I say this is what I dream about, I mean THIS IS WHAT I DRRRREEAAAAMMM ABOUT!!! I had so much fun putting this table together, mainly because I am obsessed with all things Vietri! And I got to have an 150 year old farm home in upstate New York as my canvas {insert heart eyed emojis here}. Take a look…

Fall Football with Beatriz Ball

I’m sure by now you know I love to celebrate even the smallest things– well game day is no different!! Why not bring out the silver trays and make it fun & special?! This season I’m teaming up with Beatriz Ball to share how I put together my game day spread. I literally SWOON over their beautiful pieces, especially their pearl collections {insert heart-eyed emoji}. They are timeless pieces that you can use for any occasion. From a wedding shower, to game day, and you can even use them to dress up your cookouts {like I did here!}. Aren’t they GORGEOUS?!! Take a look…

Summer Cookout with Beatriz Ball

Happy summer, friends!! {Or almost summer to us here in the northeast} Y’all know I enjoy sharing recipes and putting a healthier spin on things, but I also LOVE to set the table and have dinner parties! It’s probably the southerner in me, but even in our small, one-bedroom NYC apartment, I try to host and set the table whenever I can. It honestly brings me joy!

Living in NYC has been an adjustment, for sure. Even after 3 years, I still miss things from home in Alabama and one of those things is cooking out. We don’t have backyards in the city, or even front yards for that matter, but we DO have rooftops! Daniel recently bought a {tiny, rooftop-sized} grill for us to use on the roof and we have had several cookouts already. When Beatriz Ball reached out to partner with me, I was first thrilled because I already use and love their pieces!! And second, I thought a summer grill out would be so fun with their collection.  I just love how their pieces can be used for a nice dinner party or to add some elegance to an outdoor BBQ!! I think this mix of nice and casual is perfect for the season! Not to mention, I’m obsessed with lemon patterns right now so I’m looking for any excuse to use this tablecloth  🙂 Take a look…

Simple Christmas Tablescape

I LOVE, deeply love, everything about Christmas!! We got our tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving and every time I walk in the door I turn on Christmas music… not kidding. The smell of the fresh tree, the sound of joyful music and all the pretty decorations, what is not to love?! My mom recently got these festive reindeer napkin holders from a store in my hometown {shout out to Initially Yours} that I think make a fun holiday table setting!! When I think about setting the table and wanting it to have the “look” that every Instagram account dreams of, it can be a bit overwhelming, so it is nice to be reminded that just one simple addition, like a fun napkin ring, can complete the table! How to {Healthfully} Navigate the Holiday Feast

THE HOLIDAYS ARE HEREEEE!!! Did you know the average person gains between 8-10lbs over the holidays? That’s 100lbs over 10 years– yikes!!! It is so easy to put on a few LBs with all the delicious comfort food and big fluffy jackets that cover up so much that you forget what your own body looks like, amiright? However, the holidays don’t HAVE to result in unwanted weight gain. It is so important to be aware and {mentally} prepared going into the holiday season. As a Registered Dietitian I feel it is my duty to share some tips on the subject… so here it goes!! Take a look…

Cooking with Kids {Pizza & Popsicles}

Last week we did our first cooking with kids class!! I went over to my sister’s house and cooked with my niece, nephew & two of their new friends. We made homemade pizza & popsicles from scratch. It was a blast and a hit with the kiddos! Here are some pictures from our day in the kitchen…
